Day 5: Drive from Olympic National Park to Mount Rainier National Park

On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, I wrapped up my time at Olympic National Park and headed toward my next destination: Mount Rainier National Park!

I drove a little over four hours from the Dew Drop Inn in Forks to the Paradise Village Hotel & Restaurant in Ashford, Washington, which would be my home base for exploring Mount Rainier.

I chose to stay in Ashford because of its convenient location near the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, providing relatively easy access to the Paradise area, where I planned to hike the Skyline Loop Trail and visit Myrtle Falls, among other places.

As for the hotel itself, Paradise Village Hotel & Restaurant was one of the few accommodations I found in the area. Fortunately, it turned out to be a great choice! The bed was comfortable, and the hotel worked out perfectly for my stay.

My stay cost $742.92 for four nights, which was finally under my preferred budget of $200 per night!

I arrived before the official check-in time, but luckily, my room was almost ready. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was able to check in roughly two hours early, which worked out perfectly since I wanted to get to bed early and wake up for sunrise at Mount Fremont Fire Lookout the next morning.
