After visiting all five national parks in Utah and four in Colorado on previous trips, Washington felt like the natural next destination, so that I could visit its three National Parks! I spent three days at Olympic National Park, three days at Mount Rainier, one day at North Cascades, and one day in Seattle. While I had hoped for more time in North Cascades, State Route 20 was closed between Newhalem and Winthrop due to the Sourdough Fire, preventing me from going beyond Maple Pass Trail. Oh well. I’ll definitely be back to see more next time.
