From Thursday, June 13, 2024, through Monday, June 24, 2024, I traveled to Peru for my first-ever trip to South America.

During the pandemic, I began researching some of the top adventure hikes around the world and quickly set my sights on Peru, where I could hike the Lares Trek, visit Machu Picchu, and trek to Rainbow Mountain. Until this trip, I had mostly done day hikes, so this was my first experience with a multi-day hike and overnight camping. I was also incredibly grateful that three of my girlfriends joined me for the adventure.

We explored Ollantaytambo, Moray, Chinchero, Maras, Cusco, and Lima, hiked the Lares Trek, visited Machu Picchu, and trekked to Rainbow Mountain. It was an unforgettable introduction to both Peru and South America.
